Direct Linking with Google AdWords

Q:  Can I Direct-Link Straight from Google AdWords or Do I Need to Build My Own Landing Page?

Do you want the long story or the short story?  The short story:  Not advised.  Build your own landing pages on your own domains.  However…

The long story:  the sooner you start taking control–buying your own domains, building landing pages, writing simple HTML–the sooner you will get on the path to making six figures with online marketing.

Direct-linking from AdWords was popularized some years ago by a method called Google Cash.  It’s not like Google Cash exactly created the idea, but they spread it around.  After that, every affiliate marketer began direct-linking as a part of their strategy.

Direct-linking is not only discouraged by Google AdWords, Yahoo!, and the other PPCs, but it’s just not a great business practice.

However, it can be done.  In the short run, many affiliate marketers do in fact direct link.  Why?  So that they can test-run a campaign to see if it is viable.  This doesn’t usually last very long before Google kills the campaign.  It’s getting harder and harder to do this.

Also, direct linking is a sure sign of that the marketer is a thin affiliate:  someone who builds campaigns around offers.
